     In maart 1944 gunde Wa Pruef 6 contracten voor de productie van drie proef Pz.Kpfw. IV op Einheitsfahrgestell. In juni 1944 werd besloten om in februari 1945 de serieproductie van de Pz.Kpfw.III/IV te starten bij Krupp-Grusonwerk. Op 12 juli 1944 kreeg Krupp te horen dat de Pz.Kpfw.III/IV was gedropt en alleen de Pznaerjaeger mit L/70
